Location: New York (100% Onsite, Mon-Fri)

Salary Range: $140,000 – $180,000

Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Cloud FinOps Lead to optimize cloud operations and drive cost efficiency across its IT and engineering environments. This role will act as a critical liaison between engineering and finance teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

The Cloud FinOps Lead will oversee cloud cost optimization and allocation using industry-leading tools such as Yotascale, Data Dog, Splunk, Elastic, and Snowflake. Key responsibilities include conducting monthly consumption reviews to identify cost-saving opportunities, managing cloud costs for ongoing and new projects, and providing detailed cost analysis for AI initiatives. You will also be responsible for managing vendor renewals and software pricing negotiations for over 100 vendors, leveraging Tropic for streamlined procurement processes.

A major aspect of the role involves working closely with AI teams to estimate and manage AWS pricing for new projects. You will also take the lead on managing all IT-related RFPs to support cost-effective and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise between Engineering and Finance teams for cost optimization.
  • Manage cloud cost allocation, optimization, and mapping using tools like Yotascale, Data Dog, Splunk, and Snowflake.
  • Lead cloud cost management and optimization initiatives, including monthly consumption reviews.
  • Collaborate with AI teams on AWS pricing and project estimations.
  • Oversee software vendor management, renewals, and pricing negotiations using Tropic.
  • Manage IT-related RFPs and procurement for the company.

Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in cloud cost management and optimization.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Yotascale, Data Dog, Splunk, Snowflake, and Tropic.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Engineering, and IT teams.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and RFP processes.
